Simon has written and directed several award winning short films, including ‘Yakov, My Boy’ (Leeds International Film Festival), ‘Dogspotting’ (Film4) and his first feature length documentary ‘The Last Tribe’, selected by the BFI Mediatheque as one of 100 key films made in Yorkshire over the past century.
Simon is currently filming for a forthcoming BBC Four series, ‘Hidden Britain’ exploring four British communities on film; West-Indians, Romani Gypsies, Ugandan Asians and European Jews. Simon will present and contribute towards an episode on Yorkshire Jews who escaped persecution in Europe. It is to air on BBC Four in Autumn 2018.
